New Bridge Opens in Dubai: Travel from Jumeirah to Al Mina Now Takes Just 4 Minutes

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has inaugurated a major new bridge connecting Jumeirah Street to Al Mina Street, heading toward the Infinity Bridge. The 985-meter-long structure features two lanes and can handle up to 3,200 vehicles per hour.

The bridge is part of Phase 4 of the extensive Al Shindagha Corridor Improvement Project, which covers a 4.8 km stretch from the intersection of Sheikh Rashid Road and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street to the Falcon Intersection on Al Mina Street. According to the RTA, the project reflects the directives of Dubai’s leadership to meet the growing urban and transportation demands of the emirate.

Thanks to the new bridge, traffic flow in the area is expected to improve significantly. RTA estimates that travel time from Jumeirah to the Infinity Bridge via Al Mina Street will be reduced by 67% — from 12 minutes to just 4 — due to uninterrupted traffic flow without the need for traffic signals.
