Now the trip from Jumeirah Street to Infinity Bridge will take just five minutes. On Sunday, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced the completion of all five phases of the Al Shindagha Corridor Project on the Bur Dubai side. Travel time along the corridor has now been reduced from 80 minutes to just 12 minutes, providing significant relief for both residents and visitors.
With the opening of the fifth and final bridge, constructed as part of the upgrade project at the intersection of Sheikh Rashid Road and Al Mina Street, traffic has become seamless and fast. Motorists can now easily travel from Al Garhoud Bridge toward Port Rashid via Infinity Bridge, and further to the Waterfront Market, as well as in the reverse direction. This has significantly simplified travel along one of the busiest routes in the city.
According to RTA, the trip from Jumeirah Street to Infinity Bridge now takes only five minutes. Similarly, the route from Infinity Bridge to Al Mina Street, and further along Al Wasl Road to the intersection with 2nd December Street, also takes just five minutes. Additionally, the RTA is actively working on a tunnel project on Al Khaleej Street, which will extend from the end of the Infinity Bridge ramp in Deira to the intersection of Al Khaleej Street and Cairo Street. This is another major improvement aimed at reducing traffic congestion and making travel more comfortable.
According to Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the RTA, the Al Shindagha Corridor serves not only the Deira and Bur Dubai areas but also many residential and developing districts, including Dubai Islands, Dubai Waterfront, Dubai Maritime City, and the Mina Rashid Port.
