Ramadan 2025 in the UAE: Key Schedule Changes

Ramadan 2025, the holy month of fasting and prayer, is expected to begin on March 1 and will last for 30 days. During this period, the UAE will implement changes to adapt public life to the sacred month's customs and requirements. Working Hours. In the private sector, the working day will be reduced by two hours, including for non-Muslim employees. Government institutions will operate as follows: Monday to Thursday: 9:00 am to 2:30 pm, Friday: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
Parking and Road Tolls: Paid parking hours will change to: 8:00 am to 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Multi-story parking facilities will remain chargeable 24/7. The Salik toll system will apply the following rates: Daytime (9:00 am–5:00 pm): 6 dirhams Morning and evening hours: 4 dirhams Free of charge: Between 2:00 am and 7:00 am
Schools and Retail: Schools typically shorten the school day to five hours, with classes ending by 12:00 pm on Fridays. Supermarkets will operate as usual, and shopping malls will extend their hours to accommodate visitors.
Restaurants: Most restaurants observe fasting hours, closing during the day and opening after evening prayers. Some establishments offer indoor dining, as well as takeaway and delivery services.
Fasting Details: Daytime fasting will last approximately 13 hours. In the eastern regions of the UAE, the time for meals (Suhoor and Iftar) will be about 20 minutes earlier than in the western regions.
