Abu Dhabi Police's Happiness Patrol is back in action.
Striving to spread positivity and promote road safety, the UAE authorities reward drivers who follow traffic rules. In previous years, some motorists received free fuel cards, while others were awarded honorary "Star of Honor" badges. In one particular year, large televisions were even given out as prizes.
As part of the latest "Happiness Patrol" initiative in Al Ain, drivers were presented with gifts, but the authorities did not specify what exactly was inside the paper bags.
"Abu Dhabi Police will continue to reward those who drive safely so that they serve as an example for others," said Major Mattar Abdullah Al-Muheiri from the Deputy Directorate of Traffic in Al Ain.
Another officer emphasized the importance of the initiative and the dedication of drivers to improving road safety. "Such initiatives help reduce the number of accidents and save lives," said Colonel Jaber Saidan Mansouri, Director of the Traffic and Patrol Safety Department in Al Ain.
Police in other emirates also reward drivers for safe driving. In 2024, 22 motorists in Dubai were recognized for not committing any violations or being involved in any accidents over the past three years.
