UAEV's New Pricing Policy: Enhanced Convenience for EV Owners in the UAE

The government-owned electric vehicle charging network, UAEV, announced on Thursday that its new tariffs will take effect in January 2025. Under the updated pricing, charging at DC stations will cost AED 1.20 per kWh plus VAT, while AC stations will be priced at AED 0.70 per kWh plus VAT.

These changes mark a significant step towards building a more sustainable and scalable EV charging infrastructure. It’s worth noting that charging services have remained free since the introduction of tariffs in May this year.

UAEV Mobile App: Simplifying Charging

UAEV is also launching a mobile app that will provide users with convenient features, including finding the nearest charging stations, real-time charging status updates, and simplified payment options.

To complement the app, the company is introducing a 24/7 call center to offer instant assistance and ensure a seamless experience for all users.

"The implementation of standardized tariffs and the launch of innovative solutions like the UAEV app and 24/7 support reflect our ongoing commitment to enhancing the EV driver experience. By expanding our network and supporting the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 strategy, we are paving the way for a cleaner, greener future for everyone," said Sharif Al Olama, Chairman of UAEV.

Future Plans: 1,000 Charging Stations by 2030

By 2030, the UAEV network will feature 1,000 strategically located charging stations across urban centers, highways, and key transit points throughout the UAE. These stations will be accessible across all emirates, ensuring convenience for both intra-city and inter-city EV drivers.

These initiatives underscore the UAE’s commitment to innovation and sustainability, making the transition to eco-friendly transportation more accessible and convenient.
