Mazda RX-7 from “Tokyo Drift” to Be Auctioned for £350,000
A rare 1992 Mazda RX-7 that appeared in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift is going up for auction at Bonhams. With over 107,000 kilometers on the odometer, the car is expected to fetch between £250,000 and £350,000 (roughly 175–245 million tenge). It’s one of only two original RX-7s that survived filming—the others were destroyed during stunt scenes.
This particular RX-7 was used in static shots and close-ups, which helped preserve it in great condition. Mechanically, it remains close to stock, featuring the factory 280-horsepower rotary engine recently serviced by the famous RE Amemiya tuning house. However, the exterior has been heavily customized with the iconic Veilside Fortune wide-body kit, adding more than 20 cm in width, along with massive 19-inch wheels.
The interior was also upgraded with racing bucket seats, an Alpine sound system, and a decorative NOS bottle (not connected to an actual nitrous system). The current owner later installed coilover suspension and a custom Blitz exhaust. With its cinematic legacy and rarity, this RX-7 stands as a true collector’s gem.
