Chinese cars are conquering the used car market in the UAE: growing trust and rising sales.

The popularity of Chinese brands in the UAE's used car market is rapidly increasing, reflecting shifting consumer preferences and structural changes within the industry. This was reported by Sebastian Fuchs, Managing Director of AutoData Middle East. According to him, Chinese manufacturers are showing steady growth both in terms of sales volumes and in the retention of vehicle residual value.

One brand that particularly stands out is Jetour, whose sales have surged by an impressive 150.4% year-on-year, making it the fourth most popular brand in the UAE. The Jetour X70S STD model reflects a high level of consumer trust, retaining 88% of its value after one year and 82% after three years. This indicates that buyers are increasingly choosing affordable Chinese crossovers as a reliable long-term investment.

According to data from the first quarter of 2025, the highest demand is for vehicles manufactured between 2015 and 2020, priced between AED 10,000 and AED 90,000. Sedans like the Toyota Camry and SUVs such as the Nissan Patrol remain among the top search queries. However, consumer interest is increasingly shifting toward hybrid and electric models — particularly those from Chinese manufacturers, which are entering the used market with extended warranties.
