Changes in the rules of obtaining a tourist visa in the UAE
The United Arab Emirates has introduced new, stricter requirements for obtaining a tourist visa. Now, when a tourist applies, they must provide proof of real estate property and a bank statement.
Confirmation of real estate property includes a hotel reservation or information about the place of stay with relatives. You will also need to provide evidence regarding the possession of at least 3,000 dirhams, which must cover the costs of the entire stay.
Previously, such requirements were needed upon arrival at the airport, but now the documents must be attached at the visa application stage. This tightening is due to the authorities' attempt to minimize cases of visa abuse and to ensure the financial solvency of visitors.
Travel agencies are now required to carefully check the submitted documents, including return tickets, bank statements and details of accommodation, before uploading them to the system. In addition, it is important that the applicant's passport is valid for at least six months from the date of travel.
