The Arenacross World Series final in Abu Dhabi surprised with a spectacular fight, a loud crash and an unexpected victory for Frenchman Adrien Escoffier.
Arenacross Final in Abu Dhabi
On July 5, 2025, the Etihad Arena on Yas Island (Abu Dhabi) hosted the Arenacross World Tour Grand Final – the first time it was held outside of Europe. The event attracted thousands of spectators and the world’s best motocross riders. Frenchman Adrien Escoffier (D.A.D/Yamaha) won the final, taking advantage of his rivals’ mistakes and demonstrating consistency throughout the race. Michael Hicks took second place, and Spaniard Jorge Zaragoza finished third.
The race was marked by tense moments: a collision between Tommy Searle and Cedric Soubeyras on the second lap led to a red flag and a restart. After the restart, Hicks was in the lead, but an accident dropped Dean Wilson, one of the favorites, to tenth place. Thanks to these events, Escoffier was able to confidently take the lead and win the title.
Before the main race, there were children's and youth competitions: "My First Race", AX Minis, Superminis and Futures. These starts were not only part of the show, but also a way to showcase young talent. As part of the British series, 12 of the best juniors were invited to the final in Abu Dhabi with full expenses covered, which was a unique opportunity for aspiring athletes.
Spectators were also treated to a vibrant freestyle show featuring FMX riders, fiery pyrotechnics and 12-metre jumps. The event featured stands from leading motorcycle brands: KTM, Yamaha, Husqvarna and others. DubiCars, which acted as the official media partner, offered fans an activity zone with contests, gifts and a raffle for a Husqvarna TC 85 children's motocross bike.
Organisers ASL Active and local promoter Ethara said the Abu Dhabi final was a success on all counts, with over 10,000 spectators, a strong field and excellent organisation, all of which underlined the UAE’s commitment to hosting major international motorsport events.
Tommy Searle's injury sustained in the collision also attracted media attention, with the athlete reporting broken vertebrae but noting that the injuries were stable and he was already undergoing rehabilitation.
