At the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show, manufacturers showed that the future of cars will be built on digitalization, autonomy, electrification and maximum comfort for passengers.

The Future of Cars at the Shanghai Auto Show

At the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show, manufacturers presented their vision of the cars of the future, focusing not on power, but on technology and comfort. Visitors were impressed by cars with huge screens up to 65 inches, massage chairs and advanced multimedia capabilities. Particular attention is paid to the convenience of passengers: screens are integrated into the doors, visors and even the hoods of cars.

Chinese brands including Huawei and Xiaomi are actively competing with traditional auto giants, betting on digital technologies and full synchronization with mobile devices. Cars are becoming an extension of the smartphone: control of functions, entertainment and navigation are integrated as naturally as possible, targeting a younger audience.

The show also showcased concepts for flying cars and drones. Wanfeng announced the acquisition of German startup Volocopter, which is developing electric air taxis. Despite the big announcements, the projects are still awaiting certification, but the air mobility market is clearly growing rapidly.

In addition to luxurious interiors and futuristic concepts, the focus was on the electrification of transport. Almost every car on display has an electric or hybrid powertrain, reflecting China's commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and developing eco-friendly technologies in the automotive industry.

The Shanghai Auto Show confirmed that the future of cars is not only about advanced engines, but above all about digitalization, autonomy, aeromobility and a focus on passenger comfort. China is rapidly taking a leading position in the transformation of the global auto industry, combining communication technologies, robotics and innovative transport into a single whole.
