Al Qudra Cycle Track is a unique desert cycling track in Dubai, offering picturesque views, a complete lack of traffic and infrastructure for comfortable riding at any time of day.

Al Qudra on a bike

Al Qudra Cycle Track, also known as Saih Al Salam, is one of the best places in Dubai for cycling enthusiasts, where you can enjoy the silence of the desert and picturesque landscapes away from the bustle of the city. The length of the track is about 86 km, including popular sections: a 50-km loop, a 17-km straight section along the D36 highway and additional forks for experienced cyclists, allowing you to extend the route to 180 km. The road surface is smooth asphalt, without car traffic, which makes the track safe and comfortable.

Along the route, there are rest areas with shelters, drinking water and places to stop approximately every 10 km. The starting point is at the Last Exit Al Qudra, where you can rent a bike and helmet. Rentals cost between AED75 and AED100 for four hours, depending on the model. Although the route is accessible 24 hours a day, the best time to ride is early morning or evening, especially in the hotter months. Along the way, you can spot gazelles and rare birds, including flamingos and Arabian oryx, especially near the Al Qudra lakes.

The trip requires minimal preparation: water, sunscreen, light snacks and cycling gear, especially a helmet and lights for night riding. The easiest way to get to the track is by car (about 35-40 minutes from central Dubai), but you can also take a taxi or pre-book a transfer through Careem. In addition to cycling, the area is popular with campers and nature lovers, and is also the site of major cycling events such as the Spinneys Dubai 92 and the DP World Women’s Cycling Challenge.
